Hello and welcome to my blog covering anime, manga, import video games, kaiju movies, (i.e. Godzilla, Gamera, Rodan etc,) Ultraman and the Ultra series, cute cosplayers, Jpop, Shibuya-kei, Japan travels and so much more.
This is a space for life updates and the main page for my reviews and opinions. For the most part I will providing movie reviews on Japanese and Asian cinema in general. Also, whatever is interesting and geeky.
I will also cover anime in Tampa and surrounding cities from St. Pete to as far away as Orlando. There are some interesting places to check out. In addition to the Tampa scene, I also plan to write about my trips to Japan. I took a recent trip in April '15, so expect a blog about that coming soon.
This week has mainly been the usual commuting to work and returning home. Nothing really exciting happened until Thursday when I received Kick-Ass 2 from Netflix. With that being said on with the review.
I'm not sure why Kick-Ass 2 generates so much hate and poor reviews. The language didn't bother me, the action scenes were great, and both the heroic and villains characters were wonderful. I laughed from start to finish and am now hoping for a possible Kick-Ass 3. I believe the main problem with this movie is the violence from the PC crowd, who have voiced their opinions and weaken American cinema. Movies were so much fun before the PC movement that has caused movies to be bland, with weak spineless characters, and the level of violence toned down that I feel like all I see is PBS. More movies like Kick-Ass 2 need to be made to jumpstart a new era of movies that are once again entertaining.
So if you want to watch a funny action flick then see Kick-Ass 2. Don't listen to stuffy academics who think they know what is best for you because they have no clue as to what is truly entertaining. The film critics who are getting paid have cushy jobs and they usually recommend anything boring.
